This is quite concerning. NATOs Wedgetail (= AWACS replacement) programme has been afaics essentially killed by US withdrawal.
I'm not sure where this laves the UK.
NATO’s effort to replace its ageing E-3A Sentry fleet has been upended after the United States pulled out of the alliance’s planned purchase of up to six Boeing E-7 Wedgetails, leaving the programme without a strategic or financial anchor, the UK Defence Journal understands.
The Dutch Ministry of Defence confirmed that Washington withdrew from the AWACS replacement effort in July, prompting the Netherlands and several European partners to abandon the joint plan.

Very Roughly: 300k Planning Applications per annum. 18k Planning Appeals. 30-35% success rate. 300k Permitted Development notifications. And a larger number that require no notification. There exists… (View Post)1 -

Some enormous percentage of Planning Apps are preapproved (ie Permitted Development) or pass without ever going near a planning committee. It is around 90%. (View Post)1 -

I think lack of serious expertise and suspicion of professionals is a big factor. In Nottinghamshire a lot of it is former long-term independents, who have to an extent run things at District level -… (View Post)1
