This is quite concerning. NATOs Wedgetail (= AWACS replacement) programme has been afaics essentially killed by US withdrawal.
I'm not sure where this laves the UK.
NATO’s effort to replace its ageing E-3A Sentry fleet has been upended after the United States pulled out of the alliance’s planned purchase of up to six Boeing E-7 Wedgetails, leaving the programme without a strategic or financial anchor, the UK Defence Journal understands.
The Dutch Ministry of Defence confirmed that Washington withdrew from the AWACS replacement effort in July, prompting the Netherlands and several European partners to abandon the joint plan.

Yes - roughly. Back in the summer I was posting that I reckoned they needed £50bn pa extra on top, and that there may be a windfall from reduced interest costs on the national debt. Looking at it now… (View Post)2 -

I think so. The piccie on the Georgia Police wiki article has "Police" on the back of their tunics. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_enforcement_in_Georgia_(country) (View Post)1 -
Re: Defence of the realm – politicalbetting.com
It sounds an abstruse issue but it's important. The FAA was left with second or third rate aircraft for perhaps half of WW2, not enough and insufficiently capable - due to demands for total prod… (View Post)3
