That does show that it is possible to arrest and convict shoplifters. The problem is the punishment. Life incarceration would seem both harsh and expensive. (View Post)1 -

I think a lot of shoplifting is done to fund drug habits with a "fence" selling the stolen goods. We might do better by a proper drug treatment policy, something like the Portuguese system … (View Post)2 -
